Q: What format is LandBase available in?
A: The standard is ESRI Geodatabase or Shapefile. However please contact us with any other requirements as more specific formats may be supported including raster versions

Q: What is the accuracy of LandBase?
A: Initial testing has given an overall accuracy of 86%, full details and can be found in the LandBase user guide available on request.

Q: How is LandBase created?
A: Digital airborne imagery from systems such as the Leica ADS and Vexcel UltraCam are classified semi-automatically using object based image analysis, full details and can be found in the LandBase user guide available on request.

Q: Where does the height information come from?
A: The latest digital imagery facilitates the generation of a DTM and DSM as standard at 5m and 2m grid spacing respectively. Both layers are used to attribute each object with both a base terrain elevation and feature height above the terrain. Where available Lidar height information is used to both refine the classification and add an additional level of attribution.

Q: Is LandBase available for my area of interest?
A: LandBase coverage is growing all the time, please contact Infoterra for the latest extent or potential delivery schedule of new areas.

Q: Can I use LandBase with my existing mapping such as OS MasterMapTM?
A: Yes, LandBase can add significant value to your mapping for instance calculating per TOID artificial surface areas or adding the detail of individual trees and hedgerows.
