GPS Surveys
Global Positioning System (GPS) data provides accurate positions for ground features, which are required to supplement airborne and land survey services. Infoterra’s surveyors are able to obtain highly accurate GPS positions using the latest Leica GPS equipment in an array of configurations, suited to the survey requirements such as: High Precision Static, Dynamic / High Precision Dynamic or Real Time Kinematic (RTK). The Land Survey team also utilise the Leica “SmartNet” service, which provides immediate real time co-ordinates by receiving data corrections from the RTCM 3.1 RTK network, a multi-reference station solution based on the Ordnance Survey Active GPS Network, thus increasing the operating range and speed of surveys.
Infoterra Ltd employs the latest Leica GPS equipment to carry out GPS based survey work in an efficient and reliable manner and have a breadth of experience in the application of this technology. GPS survey techniques are typically utilised for the following project works:
- Development projects and road scheme map compilation
- High accuracy control networks
- Flood defence
- Ground Control and Ground Truthing surveys for airborne LiDAR and imaging projects
- Land administration projects
