Infoterra Ltd supports MapAction’s relief operations

Infoterra Ltd, a leader in the provision of geospatial products and services, supports MapAction’s relief operations with the donation of two ERDAS IMAGINE® licences.

MapAction is an international NGO, headquartered in the UK and has a Latin America/Caribbean section. MapAction’s vision is to apply the skills of professionals from the rapidly-evolving geospatial technology sector to help to relieve suffering and safeguard livelihoods in humanitarian emergencies. Its operational capacity is founded on a pool of volunteers who maintain readiness to deploy worldwide, together with a team of full-time staff providing leadership and operational & administrative support.

“In the field, it’s often necessary to manipulate Earth observation data quickly to produce the most relevant image-based maps for disaster relief organisations. ERDAS IMAGINE is an ideal tool for this work, and we are very grateful to Infoterra for donating licences for use by our team during our humanitarian response missions”
David Spackman, Director of MapAction
“We are pleased to be able to support MapAction’s field staff in their vital supporting role to UN and national disaster response agencies”
