Emergency Planning

Part 1 of the Civil Contingencies act requires category 1 responders to have in place emergency plans and to co-operate with other category 1 & 2 responders to enhance co-ordination and efficiency. To support these responders Infoterra has developed STEPS to provide a strategic and flexible solution for the creation of contingency plans.

STEPS - Strategic Emergency Planning and Response System

STEPS has been designed for use in two scenarios
> Operational / Emergency Planning
> Response

In the planning phase STEPS can be used to create a plan using map views, symbols, text and images, and can link to external documents.

In the response phase STEPS can be used in conjunction with SMART boards, either onboard a command vehicle or within incident rooms, to annotate a map or an existing plan.

It supports the requirement for information sharing, by providing a method to generate and store plans to include multiple agency response.
