TerraSAR-X

The TerraSAR-X satellite was successfully launched in June 2007 and delivered some extremely impressive test images in weeks.

This radar satellite, developed in partnership with the German Aerospace Agency (DLR) and EADS Astrium GmbH, will deliver weather-independent, high-resolution, new-quality data as well as a variety of radar-based geo-information products.

Infoterra Ltd has exclusive UK distribution for this high quality (1m) radar imagery and this summer used test imagery to review flood mapping in the UK. As TerraSAR-X is weather-independent and offers fast revisit times, it is ideal to track the scale of a flood’s rise and fall.
