Sensor Resolutions
Click on the thumbnails below to see the full resolution imagery. The Abu Dhabi imagery covers approximately 6.5 by 6.5 kilometres in the Landsat and SPOT images, zooming in slightly for the IRS and IKONOS imagery. The SPOT and IRS black and white data have been merged with 30m resolution colour Landsat™ data to provide a consistent comparison. We don't have access to QuickBird data over exactly the same area, but an example is included for comparison.
Landsat ETM+, 30 metre resolution, false colour infra-red. Usually output at 1:250,000 to 1:100,000 scale.
Landsat 7 ETM+, 15 metre resolution, natural colour. The 15 metre Landsat Pan black and white band has been merged with the 30 metre colour bands. Usually output at 1:100,000 to 1:50,000 scale.
Landsat 7 ETM+ data merged with 10 metre SPOT Pan black and white data to produce a 10 metre colour dataset. Usually output at 1:50,000 to 1:25,000 scale.
Landsat 7 ETM+ data merged with 6 metre IRS Pan black and white data to produce a 6 metre colour dataset. Usually output at 1:20,000 scale, occasionally at 1:10,000 scale.
Ikonos 4 metre natural colour image. Can be merged with 1 metre Ikonos Pan data to provide a very high resolution colour dataset. Usually output at 1:10,000 scale.
QuickBird 62 centimetre data over the port of Abu Dhabi (orientated ESE up). This is a merge of the black and white 62cm data with the lower spatial resolution colour data. Can be output at 1:2,500 scale or better.
