EROS A1 Data Provision

EROS A1 is the world's lightest weight commercial satellite to provide high-resolution imagery. ImageSat International's EROS A1 satellite was successfully launched in December 2000 from the Russian Cosmodrome in Svobodni, Siberia. It is the first in a constellation of global satellite imaging systems that ImageSat International plan to deploy.

EROS A1 only collects Pan (black and white) imagery.

The spatial resolution of the EROS A1 imagery is 1.8 metres, with a mean revisit time of two days. One metre can be produced by supersampling two images over the same area. Click here for an example image over Stockholm, Sweden.

Imagery can generally only be acquired within range of a ground receiving station, although limited on-board recording is also available.

The next satellite in the series, EROS B1, is planned to provide sub-metre resolution imagery.
