Greenland

As part of its Global Seeps slick screening programme Infoterra has been gathering satellite data offshore Greenland to locate the potential of natural oil seepage for a number of years. Data comprises over 550 satellite scenes providing a comprehensive baseline dataset of potential oil seepage, man - made pollution, ships and rigs.

Also in 2008 Infoterra carried out a number of near -real time slick mapping projects in tandem with a geochemical team out at sea to locate and sample natural oil seepage.

Infoterra is carrying out the largest tasking oil seepage and ice mapping projects over a number of new areas highlighted on the map image . The new satellite acquisition includes tasking the higher resolution radar satellite TerraSAR - X . Also due to the high risk of ice movement in this region Infoterra utilises satellite information to produce near -real time ice mapping . For further details please contact us.
